2026 Volunteer Opportunities:

THANK YOU for volunteering for the 2026 Oneota Film Festival March 5-8, 2026! 

We couldn’t do it without you! 

First and foremost - we are offering a Volunteer Training Night and we’d love to have you

join us!  Whether you have volunteered before, or you are just signing up for the first time,

this event is a great time to learn about the roles.  PLUS we will be screening a couple films

just for you! 

Volunteer Training Night - Wednesday, March 4, 7-8pm at Hotel Winneshiek

To simplify things for this year, we are consolidating the volunteer roles as follows:

Set-up/Tear Down Crews:

              This role involves some physical labor - like moving chairs/tables (possibly up and down stairs), setting up/tearing down equipment, papering windows, setting up signage, etc.

Headquarters/Registration:

             This role involves greeting visitors, explaining the film festival, giving directions, getting members and visitors registered, collecting donations and memberships, etc.  You will be stationed in the Hotel Winneshiek lobby

 Tech:

             This role involves playing the sponsor reel ahead of the films, playing the films on the ipad, trouble shooting any issues with audio or visuals, communicating with the next tech for the space, etc

Host:

              This role involves greeting people to the space, reading film intro scripts, counting and recording audience numbers, moderating Q&A’s (sample questions provided), etc.  There are two per screening location and you can divvy up the duties between you. 

Pie/Snacks:

This role helps fuel our volunteers, filmmakers, and audiences with pie or snacks
